[Childfree] Hi all

Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member and I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Marcio. I am a software engineer working for Numerica Corporation in Loveland. I organize a couple meetup groups on meetup.com. I've joined the group after seeing the link Gabi posted in the "childfree.meetup.com" page. The thought of having my own children is as potent in my mind as the desire to fly over to the Sahara desert to dig a big hole in the sand. Which is to say, none at all -- I just don't see the "why" in it. I've even volunteered at an after school program and substitute taught twice at PR-1, and the lesson I got out of it is that I am totally indifferent to children. My mind subconsciously tunes them out, just like my mind tunes out flies in the summer heat. Which begs the question, if I get no satisfaction out of it, would I possibly want some of my own and have to put up with the inconveniences that will inevitably come with it? The answer, I say, is not at all, which is
 why I decided to check out this group. So here I am.

What all do you guys do as a group? Are there events and such? Do you guys all get together and brag about how the children you do not have are not honor students in schools which do not exist? (don't you hate those bumper stickers? Seriously, there are so many out there, I wonder if the only qualification for being an honor student these days is not to pick one's nose).
