The trip was fantastic. I went through <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubai">Dubai </a>to meet up with Brian and
he did a two-day walking tour of the city for me (lots of photos of skyscrapers
and the '<a href="http://www.architecturelist.com/2008/03/05/351/">boom town</a>'),
also on the end of the trip, I had a layover in Dubai and Brian took me to the
AlAin Air Show.<br>
<br>
The historic loop of Ethiopia was fascinating. We saw Obelisks and Ruins
from the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Aksum">Axumite Empire</a>
(~200BC-400AD), Rock Hewn Churches in <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lalibela">Lalibela</a> (12-13th century),
the ruling castles in <a href="http://http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gondar">Gondar</a>
(17th century). In addition, we spent several days hiking the <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simien_Mountains">Semien Mountains</a> (the
Rooftop of Africa) and even saw the <a
href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walia_Ibex">Wallia Ibex</a>. <br>
