[copied from LP forums]
Well, folks, Liquid Poets is barely four months old and the response has been overwhelming. Fort Collins does indeed brew! Each meeting we see almost 50 people, the club membership is up to about 40 paid members, with several others frequenting the meetings and the brews are outstanding!
In order to keep the club's growth (and my family life!) going smoothly, we'll be holding elections in May for the following positions, open to all members:

Vice-president (cover my butt and help run meetings/classes)
Secretary (keeps track of goings-on, helps run meetings)
Treasurer - Debra already has this one at least till the end of the year
Events Coordinator - This position is also filled, by Ted
Club Advisors - these seats plus the above will comprise 20% of the club membership (which right now with 40 members would mean 4 seats)

The seats on the board, along with that of the president, will be up for grabs each January, to be voted for in November. The board and president will be in charge of major decisions regarding the direction of the club, with the more general decisions still to be decided by the members of LP as a whole. Anyone who is interested in any of the above positions, please email me and I will add your name to the ballot.

As you all know, I'm really happy with the way the club is going - good energy, great brews, many levels of experience, focus on homebrewing, etc. I would like it to become more "our" club; this will help.
