One thing I forgot to mention is that the next iron brewer challenge will be judged at this meeting. So if you brewed a breakfast beer bring it, five bucks, and see what happens. That also means that the next IBC will be announced shortly, so keep your ears perked for the details.<br>

Ted posted on the forums about the unsurprising fact that if you fry hop shoots in bacon grease they are mighty tasty. Mindblowing news.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Remi has a lot of good information about growing hops in the region and will be giving a short talk about cultivation for those that are interested. He's also going to bringing some rhizomes (Centennial and Columbus) for people looking to start or add to their collection. I've talked to some other people about bringing extra rhizomes as well, so if you have anything on hand bring them along to share (and save me some cascade rhizomes if possible :)</div>
<div><br></div><div>Competitions</div><div><br></div><div>Congrats to those that entered the Indian Peaks Alers competition last weekend. Results have been posted on their webpage: <a href="http://www.indianpeaksalers.org/" target="_blank">http://www.indianpeaksalers.org/</a></div>
<div><br></div><div>It also sounds like the people involved with the Mazer Cup had a great time. Once results for that are available I'll forward them on.</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;border-collapse:collapse">NHC 1st Round - Old West Region: </span><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;border-collapse:collapse"><span style="border-collapse:separate;font-family:Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px">Entry Deadline is March 22 - April 1, 2010. <span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;border-collapse:collapse">The judging will take place the weekend of April 23/24 at the Breckenridge Brewery on 471 Kalamath, Denver, CO. <div><br></div><div>Other Notes</div><div><br></div><div>We will be bringing some spices and grain that New Belgium was kind enough to give away last weekend for those that couldn't make it to the brewery. So if you've always wanted to make a Schizandra Berry/Wormwood/Lemon Peel tripel this might be your lucky break.</div>
<div><br></div><div>We're still looking for a location for Big Brew on May 1st. If you know of a place that can handle it, speak up and we'll see what we can set up.</div><div><br></div><div>Our competition is coming up (June 26th? - that's off the top of my head, so take that with a grain of salt) and we'll be putting together a group to coordinate things shortly. Let us know if you're interested in participating.</div>
<div><br></div><div>The next New Belgium cask project is soon to be swapped out with the beer currently sitting in the cask. I believe all the slots are filled, but there have been pleas on the forums to make sure everyone gets their share brewed in time. Get brewing people!</div>
<div><br></div>I'm out of town for the week, so Alex will be running things (into the ground). Have fun!<div><br></div><div>matt</div>
