I've had a great experience working with Home Grown. Tara gets our grains, and she comes to your house on your schedule, brings her own container (or uses yours if you wish, and always brings it back promptly), and is always so happy to be helping you out and benefiting from the process. I'd love to see her compost pile; I bet it's the most varied, stinky, and productive pile I've ever seen! :D

Robert From Home Grown Foods has a good solution, better than throwing them in the trash, and asked me to forward this to the club. Basically you email compost@homegrownfoodcolorado.org and let them know you have some spent-grains. They contact you to arrange pickup and then compost the spent-grains and use them in their gardens. From what I understand the grains compost quickly and have a fair bit of nitrogen.

Robert came to the February meeting (@Funkwerks) and talked briefly about their program and handed out business cards (attached). I've heard nothing but positive things from people that have had their grains picked up.
