Hey Poets,<div><br></div><div>Our next meeting will be held at <b>Odell Brewing Company</b> on Feb. 2nd @ 7:00 PM.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Please bring any homebrews you would like to share with the group.</div>
<div><br></div><div>1) Also we will be doing tasting panel as usual.</div><div><br></div><div>2) We will be bringing back the "Style of the Month" table. This month's (Feb.) style is WINTER WARMER. This is actually a subset of the Old Ale category (BJCP: 19A). If you already have a winter warmer ready, please bring it to share with the group. We will be doing a tasting and analysis of a few commercial examples including - Isolation Ale from Odell brewing company. Soon, I will be releasing an annual schedule for the style of the month so we can brew and prepare ahead of time.</div>
<div><br></div><div>3) Additionally, the AHA club only competition for Dark Lagers (BJCP: 4 A-C) are due on February 10th. If you have a Dark American Lager, Munich Dunkel, or a Schwarzbier and want to represent our club in the competition please bring them to the meeting. We will be putting together a panel of BJCP and non-BJCP judges to choose a winner. The club will pay the entry dues ($7) and shipping cost for the entry!</div>
<div><br></div><div>In the future, we will be incorporating the style of the month with the AHA club only competition styles during months where pertinant.</div><div><br></div><div>Early heads up! Style of the month for the March meeting will be Dry Stout (so get brewing) and the AHA club only competition will be for the stout category (BJCP: 13 A-F) with entries due on 3/24/12 however the winner will be picked at the March meeting.</div>
<div><br></div><div>4) We will have a follow up brew day at the Kregowski's house on Sat. Feb. 4th. They will be brewing a winter warmer on their system. If you want to learn more about winter warmers, see how other people brew, or just hang out with some other Poets, this is a great opportunity. This session will be limited to 10 people and we will have a sign up list at the meeting with more info. The club will be helping out with a few snacks and possibly a growler fill (or two). This will be a great opportunity for either new brewers or people who are considering modifications to their brewing process and/or equipment to see how other people make beer. </div>

<div><br></div><div>AHA National Homebrewers Competition Entry Deadline 3/19/12 - 3/28/12. Our local judging center will be in Arvada. More information will be coming from the AHA at the end of the month. </div>
