<p class="MsoNormal">Here's how it will work:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We'll all brew the same recipe of<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>pale ale on bottom page 29 of Zymurgy
May/June 2013, using different hops; just 5 gallons.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If you don't have Zymurgy, don't worry I'll send out the
recipe.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Important: I'd like
to change the recipe just a tad to make it a little more affordable for us all.
Just by substituting plain Pale malt instead of the Maris Otter; which will
cost more.</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Unless there are some
serious objections. </b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">You can choose the varitey of hops to use; but there are several
we need to make sure are covered;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Cascade</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Centennial</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Amarillo</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Columbus</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Simcoe</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Calypso</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Magnum</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Pacific Gem</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Citra</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Any New Zealand
hop</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Any hop in which you have an interest, except no noble hops</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I'll think of more....</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Then we'll pick a date some weekend this fall and everyone
will get a chance to evaluate them all</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and we'll record our comments, rank them; and I'll write it
up for publication.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">All you need to do is
brew 5 gallons of beer;</b> and we can do something that has never been done or
at least never to this scale, and learn lots about hops.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I'll coordinate this so we don't all use the same hops; and I
even have a couple of varieties to contribute to a brewer that wants to use
them.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The more brewers we can get in this project, the more we
will learn!</p>
