<div dir="ltr"><div><div>Remember to bring some cash! For those of you that were not at the last meeting, we will be holding another raffle. 1933 has agreed to donate some prizes for the raffle. Also, there will be a fantastic IPA (style of the month) included in the raffle. </div><div><br></div><div>I had many questions on why we are starting to hold monthly raffles and what the funds are being used for. Running the greatest homebrew club is not cheap. As a club we are using these raffles to raise additional funds to continue to provide everyone with a great experience each month. Some of our largest expenses include homebrew club insurance, website, email list server, fantastic events including Big Brew, Picnic, Camping Trip, Christmas Party, etc. Also we have an amazing tap system for these parties which has been recently upgraded. Lastly, each month we provide snacks and commercial beers for the tasting panels which provide you with an opportunity to experience and learn about various styles of beer.</div></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sat, Aug 29, 2015 at 8:28 AM, Liquid Poets President <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:president@liquidpoets.com" target="_blank">president@liquidpoets.com</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><p style="font-size:13px">Hello Poets,</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">I apologize this message is coming a little later than usual but I hope that you have had a chance to brew some beautiful concoctions during this August summer month. As summer comes to an end, we hope that you will join us for the September meeting at <b>1933 Brewing </b>(4025 S. Mason)<b> on Thursday, September 3rd from 7pm-9pm.</b> </p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Please be sure to thank our host by buying some great 1933 beer. Bring your homebrew, socialize and have a good time! </p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Our Style of the Month is India Pale Ale. So, grab that hopped delight and bring it for all to enjoy. LP's own Doc will be leading this panel! Below is the year's style of the month schedule.</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">September: Cat. 14. India Pale Ale<br>October: Cat. 27. Standard Cider and Perry<br>November: Cat. 9B. Scottish Heavy 70/-<br>December: Cat. 18E. Belgian Dark Strong Ale</p><p style="font-size:13px">Also, remember that the next LP mini-comp will be at our October meeting. The style is "Farmers Market" beer. So, brew a beer with something you purchased at the farmers market. </p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Here is our regular meeting agenda:</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Beer Social: For the first half hour of the meeting we hang out, meet, and greet old friends and new members alike. Try other’s homebrewed beer, cider, and mead, and have others try yours. Essentially geek out about our hobby for a bit. New members, keep an eye out for the Board members who will be introduced during the announcements; any of them will be happy to introduce you around! And don’t forget, this is a club of homebrewers and homebrewers homebrew, so please bring in your homemade fermented beverages to share!</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Tasting Panel: This is a small break-out group that gives each other direct feedback on the homebrew you bring. It will be run by an experienced, long-time member of the club. This group is more in-depth and direct than our beer social portion of the evening, but still informal. If you’d like to get and/or give direct feedback on homebrew, this is the group for you. If you have homebrew with a defect, bring it here! This is an excellent opportunity to learn about defects, to experience them, and to learn how to avoid them in the future.</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Style of the Month: One of our most popular groups, this group reviews a different BJCP subcategory every month. In this group, you’ll go over the category, drink some commercial examples, and compare them with the guidelines. Then repeat with beer brewed by club members! If you’re interested in how BJCP judging works, this is an excellent group to get involved with.</p><p style="font-size:13px" dir="ltr">Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 3rd!</p><div><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div style="font-size:small"><br></div><div style="font-size:small">Cheers,</div><div style="font-size:small" dir="ltr">Hermen <div><br><div>The Liquid Poets</div><div>Homebrewing Society<br></div></div></div><div><a style="color:rgb(17,85,204);font-size:small" href="http://www.liquidpoets.com/" target="_blank">http://www.liquidpoets.com</a></div><div><br></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
