Poets!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Our
May meeting will be held this week on May 5th at New Belgium
Brewing Company from 7-9pm.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b>Beer Roulette!<br></b></p><p class="MsoNormal">Since we have all of the extra beer from the Liquid Poetry Slam, we will have about 300 bottles of beer for Beer Roulette!  All of these beers are labeled with the Style and Sub-Style ( 21A = American IPA ), but they may or may not have won a medal.... they may or may not be excellent, or bad, or somewhere in between.  So, they are Beer Roulette!  All of these beers will be available to sample during the meeting and to take home at the end of the meeting.  Given that, please do not feel compelled to bring a home brew to this months meeting.... we should have plenty of beer!<br></p><p class="MsoNormal">  </p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Tasting Panel:</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Since
we seem to always have a lot going on at meetings, and those wanting feedback
on beers may not always remember to bring 2 bottles, we are going to try
something new with the tasting panel over the next couple of months.<span>  </span>We are going to ask those who are BJCP
certified judges if they would be willing to give one-on-one feedback to other
members who are seeking it.<span>  </span>Those BJCP
members who are willing will have a special name tag denoting that they are
willing to take a minute or two and review your beer with you.<span>  </span>If you are BJCP certified, and you are
willing to help out other club members at our meetings, please let one of the
Board Members know and we will get you setup with the special name tag.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Beer Social:</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As
usual, we will gather around the beer table for the first 15-20 minutes of the
meeting and greet new and old friends alike.<span> This month, we will mostly be playing Beer Roulette!</span><span>  </span>Let’s
sample some great, good, average, or bad home brew and generally relax for a bit!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Mini
Comp:</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Last months Black IPA challenge was won by Ben Gentry and he chose Peppercorn beers as the next challenge. They will be judged according to the Spice category and all base styles are acceptable.  We are working out the timing for the next Mini Comp judging, but it will either be at the July or August meeting.  Keep your eyes open for more details!</p><p class="MsoNormal"></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Style of the Month:</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Overall
the goal this year will be to have a couple of commercial examples and a number
of home brewed examples at each meeting.<span> 
</span>The focus of the table will be to examine the examples based on the BJCP
Guidelines and see how will they compare.<span> 
</span>Hopefully this will be in informative table where members can get down
and dirty with the details of the chosen style.</p>
