Thanks, Ann! That was an article that really did hit the nail on the
head. I found it interesting that there are other people that had
identified themselves as childfree at a very young age. I did, too...at
the age of 12.
One paragraph and quote that annoyed me was:
Glenn says of the childfree, "If that's somebody's choice, that's
certainly their prerogative," but then quickly adds, "I'm sure they're
more than happy to collect the Social Security benefits from couples who
do have children who grow up to be contributing members of society."
He neglected to mention that we're still responsible for property taxes
that primarily are used for school funding. Portions of my property
taxes that go towards schools are 64% and 55%. Umm...hmmm...sure...we're
not contributing in any way to the privilege of them having their
children.
