[Childfree] Hiking this Sunday 8/21?

We are interested in hiking Sunday.  Would like to follow a new trail.  
We did Flattop last year.  I don't think we did Sky Pond????  Perhaps we 
did the snowshoe along this trail up to Loch Vale???  One area of 
concern is that the description for Sky Pond suggests the climb above 
Timberline Falls (at about 3.9 miles) is very steep and slippery.  Sky 
Pond is found at about 4.5 miles.
