Potential judges, stewards and helpers and contestants:
I've received sign-up sheets/emails from several of you. I believe I have
sent a confirmation to all emails received to date.
As a reminder, the judging for this year's High Plains Drafters, 12th Annual
8 Seconds of Froth, homebrew competition will be on Saturday, May 13th. This
year's competition will be held at the same location as last year, the
Cheyenne Country Club, 800 Stinner Rd in Cheyenne. (Detailed directions will be
provided to those who sign up.)
We plan to start judging at 9:30 am, so plan to arrive by at least 9:00 am to
get signed in and receive your judging/stewarding assignments. The first
session will go from 9:30 am to about 12:00 noon. The afternoon session goes
from 1:00 pm to about 3:30 pm. Best of show judging will immediately follow, and
winners will be announced at the conclusion of that judging.
Lunch will be provided for judges and stewards. This is our club treat and
thank you for everyone who's travelling into Cheyenne from out of town to help
us with our competition. In addition to the a table of donated prizes for
winners, there will be several drawings for door prizes for our judges and
stewards at this year's competition.
For those that haven't sent in a sign up sheet or email, would you please
confirm your desire to participate by emailing or sending me the following
information as soon as possible:
Name, address, email address, phone #, BJCP # and/or judging experience,
availability (am &/or pm), beer/mead styles you plan to enter in the competition
and, therefore, cannot judge, (if you desire--also list the styles you prefer
to judge or prefer not to judge--we'll try to accomodate your desires.)
I know that everyone has busy schedules. Therefore, I plan to keep the
judging/stewarding sign-up open until the day of the competition (if you show up
we'll find a place for you). However, I plan to start assigning judges and
stewards for the individual sessions on Sunday, May 7th and we need to make
arrangements for lunch. If you think you can participate, please sign-up--you can
always let me know if your plans change. Everyone is welcome to help and if we
have novice judges who would like to participate, we'll pair you up with a
couple more experienced judges so that you can get some experience.
This emailing is going out to everyone who has already signed up or expressed
an interest, who judged last year, or is on the Front Range portion of the
BJCP judge listing. Many of you might get duplicate mailings because I'm also
sending this emailing to several of the Front Range homebrew club email groups.
Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone else who you think
might be interested.
