[Liquidpoets] Big Brew - Saturday May 1

Hi All,

 

As most of you know, Big Brew is almost here.  With all that Colin has going
on this year, Hops and Berries is not able to sponsor and host Big Brew this
year.  This year we will be holding a club only Big Brew event at my house
on Saturday, May 1.  This will be a scaled down event compared to years
past.  While this is a club only event, part of the goal of Big Brew is to
educate others about brewing so if you are going to attend and want to bring
a guest feel free but please use your discretion on who you invite.  Part of
the reason that this is being scaled down this year is that I just do not
have the space to accommodate as many guests as Colin has had at Big Brew in
recent years.

 

For those not familiar with Big Brew, it is the AHA's National Homebrew day.
A holiday of sorts where they encourage groups to gather at one location and
brew together on the first Saturday in May.  If you want to brew, you will
need to bring anything and everything you need with you such as burners,
propane, kettles, utensils, etc.  I will have a two tier stand setup for
sparging.  Hopefully my concrete patio and the garage will provide enough
stable space for burners and we can dedicate the lawn to food, beer and
lounging.  The club is planning on providing brats and some beer and but you
are encouraged to bring something to share.

What to bring - any brewing equipment that you will need, food to share,
some beer, lawn chairs.

What to brew - Whatever you want!  The AHA does have some suggested recipes
that can be found HERE

If you are planning on attending, please let me know as soon as possible so
that we have a rough headcount for the food and beer we are going to buy.
