[Liquidpoets] June Meeting - Equinox Brewing

[Liquid Poets President]

This month's meeting will be this Thursday, June 3, at Equinox Brewing. For
the 3 of you that haven't already been there, this is Colin's new brewery
next door to Hops and Berries.

Liquid Poetry Slam

Our homebrew competition is this weekend, and we need a lot of help getting
prepared for it. We received 343 entries, so first of all - thanks for all
the submissions, and second - help! - we're going to need a lot of people to
judge, steward, etc. The main competition is going to be Sunday, but we will
probably have at least one session on Saturday as well. If you want to help
either day and haven't let me know, please do.

For people that haven't been involved in a homebrew competition before this
is a great opportunity to meet some very experienced judges and learn a lot
about beer styles and how to evaluate beers. I'm going to put together a
small group for people that haven't judged before but are interested in
learning about it, and we'll go through a couple of beers and give you an
idea of what to expect this weekend.

Iron Brewer Challenge

This has kind of fallen off the radar with the other things going on, but
the "Lemon-esque" challenge is still on. Five bucks to enter, winner takes
all and gets to choose the next challenge. We're probably looking at
september at the moment for this.

New Belgium Kegs

There are still kegs to be had - 10 dollars a pop. We're still looking at
the 19th to pick them up, but the date isn't 100% confirmed. You'll hear
when it is finalized.

Camping Adventure

We're going to start signing people up for the camping spot we have reserved
August 21 and 22. I think it's going to cost 5-10 bucks a head and the club
is going to provide some food and beer. Should be a great time. Ted will
have more information about this Thursday.

Summer BBQ

We're also going to have a summer BBQ at some point soon, but I don't think
we've actually picked a date yet (note to self: pick a date). Keep an eye
out for more information.
