I think Hops and Berries added the no-barley kicker, like when they added soda to the candy beer.

There are lots of good resources out there for making non-hopped beers, including gruits and other types of historical beers, so do your homework and come up with a recipe. I'm hoping for a good turnout since anyone from the greenest extract to the most-grizzled all-grain brewer should be able to come up with a good entry. We'll judge it probably at the March or April meeting - details as they emerge.

>>To remind everyone, the Iron Brewer Challenge is a competition held within the Liquid Poets. A particular brewing challenge is presented, people brew, enter, and pay a $5 entry fee. The winner gets the money, and gets to pick the next iron brewer challenge. Past examples have included candy beers, no barley, flowers, non-oak wood, chili beers, breakfast cereal beer, smoked, attack of the clones, chocolate, and non-stout/porter tea and coffee beer.
