As Brad mentioned, I am back home, and besides my leg (which as Remi mentioned has a compound fracture to both tib and fib), am in surprisingly good shape. Im on painkillers, but am generally comfortable.
Im hoping it will be a quick recovery, but I won't really know until I meet with the doctors next week and we have an idea of how I've progressed this first week.
For those of you that read the article in the Coloradoan, I will give my full story, since no one in the media bothered to contact me (or even determine my name originally) before posting the story.
I was riding east on mountain ave in the right (shared) lane. I was keeping an eye on a truck in the left lane that looked like the might try to cut in front of me or make a turn to the right across my path. As I got toward Peterson I saw the light at Riverside was green. I looked over to the truck for a second and never saw the light change. I looked at the intersection as I approached it and as I entered a car in the middle lane started to go. I then noticed the light had changed but it was too late. The first car stopped short but a car in the far lane never saw me and I didn't have time to react.
The bumper hit my right lower leg causing a compound fracture of my tibia and fibula. I almost instantly came off my bike, flipped through the air, and landed on my side. My bike flew completely across the street landing near the far light pole.
Thanks so much to Brad and Gordon for putting this fundraiser on. I am really worried about how my bills are going to turn out but this takes some of that away. If we are able to raise more money than my bills require, I will donate everything else to local charities.
Thank you so much for your support!
-Andy

Andy Mitchell is in serious condition at Poudre Valley hospital with a compound fracture to his leg. Andy is going to need a LOT of support to get back on his feet. Funkwerks is having a benefit for him next Monday from 12-8 with all proceeds going to him. Get well soon, Andy! _______________________________________________
