If you haven't been to Big Brew before, you may not know it to be one the
funnest things the LP does. Everyone has an awesome time, and we all teach
and learn from one another. Some of these guys have 15 and even 20 years of
brewing under their belt. Always a good time, and even if you don't brew a
batch, feel free to bring a bottle or two of something fun.
I will brew a northern brown tomorrow that should be ready, if a bit young.
This is a perfect way for beginners and new members to get in on the
action, so I can certainly find something else to do with this if there are
others who want to brew....
For the record, I served a perfectly tasty wit ten days after pitching
yeast, and I do believe someone beat that by a few days with a German
weizen for those looking for ideas. Mild, Saison, pretty much any ale
sub-5% is fair game. (But I will give MAJOR props to the one who can
produce a passable lager in three weeks.)
