>
> Hey Poets,

> Our next LP meeting will be at *The Mayor of Old Town.* on *Thursday* *July
> 5th* @ 7:00 PM. For those who don't know, its located on Mason St. just
> north of Laurel.
>
>
> We will have a beer social for the first ~ 15 min. You can bring any
> homebrews you would like to share with the group.
>

   1) We will be doing tasting panel. If you have any beers (or meads and
ciders) that you want specific feedback on please bring them. This is an
opportunity to get very direct comments on beer attributes and style for
your good or bad beers. Also, if you have beer that you know has a
specific "problem" - bring it! This is a great educational opportunity to
train other people on beer attributes and taints.

>
2) Weizen/Weissbier * * (BJCP: 15a) is the July style of the month. If
> you have a Weizen/Weissbier, please bring it for the table. There will
> be commercial examples for calibration and tasting and then we will get
> into the homebrews. These discussions will be lead by BJCP judges and is a
> great opportunity to really dissect the diversity and qualification for
> certain beer styles. For brewers who are interested in learning how
> competition beer judging works - this is the table to be seated at!
>
> 3) Unless someone else is interested in hosting a Weizen/Weissbier brew
> session at their house, I will be hosting on Sunday, June 8th @ 12 PM. I
> can host up to 8 people. Please come let me know at the meeting if you
> want to brew it instead.
>
> 4) Congratulations to all the Poets that earned medals at the LP Slam.
Furthermore, thank you for all the hard work and effort that was put into
this years Slam at all levels (see below #8).

   5) For those who haven't heard, Jay Shambo was chosen as the winner of
the Taste of Fort Collins Session IPA. He will be brewing his beer at
Odell Brewing Company next year.

6) Lastly, lets make sure to give Andy Mitchell a double high-five for
> winning a GOLD medal at the 2012 National Homebrewers Conference in Seattle
> for his Hibiscus Saison in Spice, Herb, and Vegetable beer category. Way
> to represent the brewing talents in FoCo!
>

   7) Doc has announced his next Iron Brewer Challenge - *Chile Pale Ale*.
Chile can be interpreted however you like, but the base style is an
American Pale Ale. We should be judging this beer on Sept. 6th so get them
brewed.

  8) On behalf of the membership in the Liquid Poets, I am proud to
announce that we have made *$1000* donation to the American Red Cross for
the High Park fire relief. We were only able to do this because of all the
money we earned through hard work and volunteering at our Liquid Poetry
Slam. If you are reading this message, you deserve a pat on the back.
 Thanks for all your efforts!
