JoeI've got some Wit Beer yeast grown up from a slant from the club's yeast bank if someone wants it for a Hefe. Last Sunday when I brewed, I decanted the top 500 ml of wort off the top of a flask of yeast sediment. I set the decanted fraction aside in the fridge and the yeast that was suspended in the wort has settled out. If someone wants to decant the spent wort from this and add 500 ml to 1 L of wort to it, I bet they would have enough to pitch by Sunday eveneing. Can't positively gurantee purity, but I prop from slants quite commonly and have produced clean yeast so far (brewer assumes some risk here). If someone is interested they can reply directly to me and we can make arrangements for the handoff. Todd

Hey Poets,
I forgot to mention last night, that I will be hosting a Hefeweizen follow up brew day at my house on Sunday, July 8th @ 12 PM. I will be doing a step mash using decoction. The Poets will be providing a few snacks and some beers. I also have beer on tap. I can host 7 more people. If anyone is interested, please shoot me an email (Breakdownproject at aol.com) or call me (864-903-4280) so I know who to expect, and so I can send out directions.
Also, last night it was brought to my attention, that we need to do a beer attribute training class sessions. As a rough outline of how this works, we will meet 3 times over a 3 week period for approx. 2 hours each time. We will go through 8 attributes each class. I will be more than happy to lead these classes, as I have been through it before. This is an awesome opportunity to dial in your palate and find blind spots that you might have to certain beer attributes. We will probably use Hops and Berries South as the meeting location. There are a limited number people we can have per class, so it will be sign up only and first come first serve. Right now we have 11 spots available. We will be doing these sessions on three consecutive Sunday evenings from 5 - 7. We haven't ordered the kit yet, so we likely won't start this until sometime in August. Please shoot me an email if your interested. Also, the cost will be divided equally among the 12 attendees - about $15 b
ucks per person for all three classes ( well worth the cost).
Cheers,
Joe
