[Liquidpoets] Free cross-platform brewing software

Hey Poets,
We do use an electric converted ½ bbl (approx. 40 liters) keg system here at NBB; soon to be replaced/ augmented by a new 10 hl pilot system from Newlands.
We went with a multiple heating element configuration in order to mitigate issues around using natural gas or propane inside the brewery. There are pros and cons, of course, but have been able to make good use of this system over the last 3+ years. Some of my favorite NBB beers have been test brewed on this system, including Snow Day.
Some of the complications arise around available electric power. We installed 2 @ 20 A circuits to accommodate 3 @ 1500 w elements and 2 @ 1/25 hp pumps. Here’s the type of element we used (ordered from Sabco)-->

Tri-Clamp, ( 1" ) all stainless design
with two wire connection
NP1004 TC Heating Element $179.95
45 liters of lautered wort @ 60 C takes a good hour to heat up to boiling, even with these elements. But it rolls pretty well once boiling.
I’ve also attached a schematic for reference… it is not fully detailed so if there are questions send them my way,
Cheers,
Chris

I know that New Belgium brews there pilot beers on a electric system. You may want to ask to see it.

Hello all-
Is anyone currently brewing on an all electric system, especially 20 gallon or larger batches? I am thinking of going that way and would like to see a system built or maybe even in action and ask a few questions. Also I will be brewing this Friday morning if anyone wants to come check it out and have a beer. Email me direct at enlightenelectric at live.com<mailto:enlightenelectric at live.com>, or call me at 970 412 3496 for directions.
Thanks,
Tim Anderson
