[Liquidpoets] 2012 LP Slam is almost here!

Hi all,

 

Just a reminder that the 2012 LP Slam is almost here!  The judging and
awards ceremony will be on Sunday June 3rd at Odell Brewing Company.  All
competition related information can be found here

Here are a few critical things to keep in mind.

 

Entries

Entries are due at drop off locations by close of business on Friday May 25.
That's in 2 days!  We should have people picking up entries on Saturday
morning at each location, so make sure to get them in by the end of Friday!
Online registration for entries is available and will save us some time
during sorting if we don't have to manually type in a lot of information.
Visit the competition site above to register and submit your entries.

 

Judging

We still need more judges.  If you can help out, please register as a judge
on the competition site.  You do not have to be BJCP certified in order to
judge, you will be paired with someone who is.  Judging is a great way to
learn more about how to critically analyze a beer and it's not nearly as
scary as it sounds.

 

Stewarding

If judging just isn't your thing, but you still want to help out, we need
more stewards.  We only have 7 signed up so far.  Again, you can sign up to
steward through the competition site.  Stewards help the judges with
paperwork, making sure that they have everything required at their table,
relaying questions about specific beers to the competition coordinator, etc.
It is a great way to be involved and learn about judging without having to
judge.

 

Awards Ceremony

As soon as the judging is complete, we will be having an awards ceremony at
Odell Brewing Company.  I would guess that it will start around 6pm, but the
tap room should be open for us (usually closed on Sundays) by 5pm.  They
will be serving pints and half-pints only, no taster trays, as they will
have a small volunteer staff that night.  We will announce winners and have
prizes available for pickup.
