I just recently learned of your organization and wanted to share an event invite with you.

One of our senior capstone classes, in the Dept. of Food Science and Human Nutrition, is hosting a series of fermentation events and a mixer next Monday. We would love to have you join us for any or all of it. We're especially excited, because it is one of the first celebrations of fermentation sciences on campus since the announcement of our new undergraduate degree program in fermentation sciences and technology.

CSU's Fermentation Science Event and Mixer
April 15, 2013

In celebration of Colorado State University's new degree program in fermentation science and technology, the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, with the help of our students, is hosting a series of fermentation activities:

3-3:30 p.m.: A Fermentation Demonstration will be led by Marni Wahlquist of Vital Cultured Foods. We'll learn how easy it is to make sauerkraut in your own home, and you'll be amazed at how many different flavors you can create! 10 Tickets Left!

3:45-5:15 p.m.: A Discussion Panel of professionals in the industry, designed to cover topics such as the fermentation processes of beer, wine, cheese, yogurt, bread, vegetables, and meats, along with the food safety precautions. All seats are full! But we're happy to put you on a wait list.

5:30-6 p.m.: A VIP Tour led by fermentation faculty, Dr. Chris Melby and Dr. Tiffany Weir, will showcase the new home of the fermentation science degree program at CSU. This is a sneak peek into our space, which is yet to be renovated, and a chance to provide your thoughts and ideas about how we can continue strengthening this exciting new area of research and education at CSU. 10 tickets left!

The Discussion Panel, Fermentation Demonstration, and VIP Tour are free to attend, but RSVPs are required, because space is limited. The demonstration will be held in Gifford Hall, Room 239, and the panel will be held in Gifford Hall, Room 113. The VIP Tour will also depart from Room 113, shortly after the panel. Attendees can use the pay-to-park spaces in the Lory Student Center parking lot or the Prospect Road parking garage.

6-8 p.m.: A Fermentation Mixer will be held in the Aspen Grille, located in the Lory Student Center, and will feature delicious fermented food and beverage pairings. These special treats will highlight the many fermented foods made in Colorado. Tickets to this event are $20. We still have 25 tickets left for the mixer, which is the largest event of the day. Come join the festivities!
