Dear Fellow Meadmakers!

We are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Mazer Cup International Mead
Competition to be held March 21-22, 2014! The 2014 MCI will be held at
the Boulder
Outlook Hotel <http://www.boulderoutlook.com/> again this year.

*NOTE:* *Our venue (A Spice of Life) suffered serious damage during the
flooding that caused so much damage and touched so many people's lives. We
have been unable to find a venue that is available to host our event this
year. Due to the number of other venues that were impacted there were no
facilities available for our dates and within our budget to host the 2014
Mead Mixer. We are already working on the 2015 Mead Mixer and will keep you
updated as we move forward.*

Because of our massive growth, and to ensure that all entries can be
judged, we are limiting entries this year. We will be restricting total
entries in 2014 in the Home Competition and in the Commercial Competition
so that we can ensure that all meads can be judged within the time frame of
the Mazer Cup.

Entry Fees: Due to rising costs, we are increasing entry fees in 2014.

   - MCI Home MeadMaker Competition is being raised to $10 per entry for
   the 2014 competition. We are also changing the limit to 10 entries per
   person in order to keep the number of entries manageable for the judges and
   competition staff.
   - Commercial Meadery Competition entry fee changes: The entry fee is
   being raised to $60.00 USD per entry for the 2014 competition. There will
   be no discount for more than 10 entries this year.

The 5th Annual Mazer Cup International Mead Competition was an amazing
event, with 60% more entries than in 2012, and of course, some of the best
meads in the world being judged.

We also had 53 meads showcased in our first annual Mead Mixer, and a full
house at A Spice of Life to sample the meads and tasty munchies we provided
to go with them. Everyone we talked to had a great time. We expect to do
the Mead Mixer again in 2015 after Boulder recovers from the flood damage,
and hope you will join us.

If you entered, thank you very much! If not, why not? Where else can you
have the opportunity to pit your meads against the finest in the world? No
mead competition anywhere on the planet will give you what the Mazer Cup
can. Join nearly 800 other people and meaderies who said 'yes!' and entered
the Mazer Cup.
