Poets and Muses,

Our next meeting will be February 6th at C B &
Potts<https://www.google.com/maps/preview/place/C.B.+%26+Potts,+West+Elizabeth+Street,+Fort+Collins,+CO/@40.574242,-105.102496,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x87694a47f8808757:0xe91c56fb9b3911e1>
from
7-9pm.

If you didn't bring your registration material last month, be sure to bring
it.

The format will be:

   - Beer social for the first 30 minutes or so before breaking out into
   our regular groups.
   - Tasting panel. This is an opportunity for you to get direct feedback
about specific beers/meads/ciders/etc that you have brewed. If you have
something with a defect, *please bring it!* This is an opportunity for
everyone to learn about defects and for you to learn what caused it and how
to avoid it in the future.
   - The style of the month for February is Belgian Dubbel! This is one of
my absolute favorite styles. I'll try to bring enough to accommodate a
little larger group on the off chance that I'm not the only one with a
passion for these beers. If you are interested in how BJCP judging works,
this is the table for you. We'll discuss the BJCP guidelines and then
compare each beer in turn (commercial and homebrew) against them. If you
have a Belgian Dubbel, bring it in because I'd love to try it.
   - BJCP panel. Continuing with a new group started last month, we'll
hold a BJCP panel for beers. The panel with judge your beer, providing you
with a score and feedback. This is an opportunity to learn how your beers
will stack up in competition. If you'd like to submit a beer to the panel
you must bring in a dedicated bottle that is labeled with: BJCP category,
OG, FG, ABV, and IBUs. Space is very limited, so please, only 1 bottle per
person. If you'd like to learn more about how to judge beer, volunteer for
the panel. You'll be grouped in with BJCP judges and you can start to get a
feel for what it takes to be a judge.

See you all there!
Jason L Connor
