Hello Poets!

Our April meeting will be held this week on April 7th at CB&Potts Big Horn
Brewing Company on West Elizabeth Street from 7-9pm.

*Tasting Panel:*

Since we seem to always have a lot going on at meetings, and those wanting
feedback on beers may not always remember to bring 2 bottles, we are going
to try something new with the tasting panel over the next couple of months.
We are going to ask those who are BJCP certified judges if they would be
willing to give one-on-one feedback to other members who are seeking it. Those
BJCP members who are willing will have a special name tag denoting that
they are willing to take a minute or two and review your beer with you. If
you are BJCP certified, and you are willing to help out other club members
at our meetings, please let one of the Board Members know and we will get
you setup with the special name tag.

*Beer Social:*

As usual, we will gather around the beer table for the first 15-20 minutes
of the meeting and greet new and old friends alike. Bring something you
have made recently, something you have had aging for a while, or anything
in between. Let’s sample some great home brew and generally relax for a
bit!

*Mini Comp:*

At this month's meeting, we will have the next in our series of internal
club Mini Competitions. Jon Estabrook won the last mini comp and he choose
Black IPA as the challenge for this month. If you have a Black IPA, bring
one to the meeting and we'll have a quick judging session to see which one
is the best. If you win you get a nice little gift card to Hops & Berries
and you get to pick the next challenge.

*Style of the Month:*

Overall the goal this year will be to have a couple of commercial examples
and a number of home brewed examples at each meeting. The focus of the
table will be to examine the examples based on the BJCP Guidelines and see
how will they compare. Hopefully this will be in informative table where
members can get down and dirty with the details of the chosen style.

April’s Style of the Month is English Bitters: All Category 11 Beers. Below
is the full list for Style of the Month. If you are interested in leading
one of these tables, please let me know and I'll get you penciled in.
