[Liquidpoets] December Meeting

[Liquid Poets Events Coordinator]

Hello Poets,

Our December meeting is Thursday December 7th from 7-9pm at New Belgium!
This is a fantastic venue with plenty of beer relevant to the this month's
style.

The style of the month is Belgian Darks. So if you have a homebrewed
example, please bring it and join us at the table to try commercial
examples and discuss the style(s) in depth. Explicitly: Belgian Pale Ale,
Strong Belgian Ale, Belgian Dubbel, and Belgian Dark Strong.

This meeting we are also announcing the nominees for next year's board of
directors.

We still need nominees. No one has stepped up and nominated themselves for
competition coordinator. This is, undoubtedly, a big job and one that we
have trouble getting volunteers for every year. To play devil's advocate a
bit, maybe we should consider whether or not we want to run a competition.
It isn't mandatory. This is a hobby after all and a lot of people in the
club, myself included, don't enter competitions. If it's become this
difficult to find someone to plan and run it, maybe it's time to cut the
position and the competition from the club's list of responsibilities. Just
a thought.
