[Liquidpoets] 2018 Board of Directors

[Liquid Poets Events Coordinator]

Hi Everyone,

We are accepting nominations for next years board members and officers. You
can nominate yourself (and only yourself) through the website or by
replying to this email for the position(s) you'd like to volunteer for.

setup.

The board offices and positions are:

   - *President* - presides over meetings and events, delegates tasks, and
   represents the club
   - *Vice President* - handles the duties of the president in their
   absence, maintains record of the club possessions and equipment
   - *Treasurer / Secretary* - collects dues, revenues, and prepares
   financial summaries, and ensures all members have signed the liability
   waiver
   - *Event Coordinator* - schedules, plans, and coordinates the monthly
   meetings and special events (other than the competition)
   - *Competition Coordinator* - schedules, plans, and coordinates the
   annual poetry slam
   - *Board at Large (4) *- advisory positions, reserved for folks that
   have served on the club's board in the past, as well as special duties,
   like website maintenance, homebrewers' guild liaison, etc

This has been a difficult year for the club. Waning membership and a lack
of enthusiasm for leadership roles in the club have left us at a
crossroads. I'm unsure if the club's traditions and routines still serve
the interests of the members or adequately represent our hobby.

I think it's time we stop going through the motions and really evaluate
what we, as individual hobbyists, want from our club and what we, as a
club, want collectively.

I invite everyone to put their names forward for 2018's board of directors.
Help us start a new chapter for the Liquid Poets. It's our club, we should
take pride in it and help guide it towards the organization we want it to
be.

The nominees will be announced at December's meeting at New Belgium, when
voting will begin. Voting will remain open until the day before the January
meeting.
