[Liquidpoets] Big Brew details

[Liquid Poets President]

Hello fellow Poets,

I know you've all been awaiting info about Big Brew. Most of you are
already familiar with Big Brew, but this is a great, nationwide event that
promotes our hobby and gives us all a chance to connect and share it.
You'll get the chance to see other people's brewing setups and learn from
one another. Honestly, this is one of my favorite social events of the year.

We encourage everyone to join us to brew at least one batch, but you are
welcome to just come and observe, and maybe even lend a hand. You're also
welcome to bring friends and family (including kids).

Here are the details:

Date: Saturday, May 5, 8am - 6pm

The club will provide

   - Grilled food options (burgers, veggie burgers, etc)
   - Condiments
   - Beer on tap, brewed by club volunteers


What to bring:

   - Everything you need to brew a batch of beer, including something to
   put under your burner (protect the lawn)
   - A side dish or dessert to share
   - Your own drinking vessel and camp plates (reduce the garbage if
   possible)
   - Chair
   - Canopy if you have one


If you aren't sure what to brew, the AHA has some official recipes

 for this year: a honey lager and an Irish stout. Whipping together a mead
or cider is also an easy option.

Ground rules:

   - Appreciate Matt's generosity and respect his house and yard
   - Clean up your mess
   - Leave the driveway clear for unloading and loading -- park nearby, but
   don't block anyone's driveway
   - Enjoy the beer, but don't overdo it. Do NOT drink and drive
   - Compost your grain (Matt has a bin for that)

If you want to help make this as awesome as possible, please:

   - volunteer to help set up or clean up
   - consider bringing an extra hose and/or splitter/manifold
   - we could also use a second grill if you can bring one

I'll send out another announcement when we get closer. If you think of
anything I've forgotten, please let me know.
