[Liquidpoets] October meeting and other news

[Liquid Poets President]

Next Thursday, we'll be meeting at Horse and Dragon. As always, the meeting
starts at 7pm, but please come by early and support our hosts if you can.

The style of the month will be spiced beers. Pumpkin and Christmas spiced
beers are not my personal fave, but it's a big, wonderful world, so if you
have a homebrewed example, it will be welcome. But there are plenty of
other spices out there, too. ;-)

One thing I'd like to try a little differently this meeting is to make our
social period more social. To that end, rather than just setting your beer
down with all the others for people to try, I'd like to encourage everyone
to personally share their beer with people. In particular, I'd like you to
pick at least one or two people you don't know that well and share your
hard-brewed beer/mead/cider with them.

Speaking of sharing, I have one more notice from Dr. Thomas Cauvin from the
CSU History Department. He and his students are collecting items of
Colorado homebrewing history. The attached image explains it, but they're
asking people to bring items like equipment, recipes, etc to Odell's on Oct
6 and Oct 8 so they can photograph them for their project. Please help them
out if you can. Later this year, they'll be inviting us to come to a
presentation of what they've learned.
